HOME MISSION STATEMENT ABOUT THE CHURCH BECOME A MINISTER DEGREE PROGRAMS CONTACT

OUR MISSION

The purpose of our church is to engage in the study and application of Truth as taught and demonstrated by religious/spiritual prophets and metaphysical teachers of all the ages.

We seek to create unity between science, philosophy and religion so that, through this synthesis, peace and prosperity may reign on earth through the brotherhood of man.

We believe we can do this by the study and utilization, as part of our basic religious practice, a holistic healing program, which involves bringing one's self into balance through a harmonious blending of the spiritual / mental / emotional / physical aspects of the human experience, not excluding any acceptable therapies as practiced by physicians, metaphysicians, spiritual or traditional healers historically worldwide.

"I look upon all the world as my parish."

(John Wesley)

Our belief is…

  • In the dignity and infinite value of every human being.
  • That a person’s highest potential can be reached through the expansion, development and growth of his knowledge, wisdom and intuitive capacities.
  • In searching for truth and the unity of philosophy, religion and science through scientific, metaphysical and inspirational procedures.
  • In the inalienable right of each individual to interpret and apply such concepts of truth in accordance with his or her own conscience.
  • That these are our highest obligations to ourselves, our planet and all living things.

Be Wise as The Serpent and Gentle as The Dove

Occasionally some well-meaning, but obviously confused, person will try to save my soul by pointing out that I am encouraging people to be wise as the devil or Satan. I am not.

The serpent has always been an "occult" (hidden) symbol of wisdom and knowledge. (In the Bible, in the story of Adam and Eve, does no one else notice that it is the serpent who tells the truth and God who lies about the forbidden fruit being lethal? Even as a child that made me very tense about God.) The part, then, that says to be wise as the serpent means: know as much as you can about as much as you can. Knowledge is neither good nor bad, it just is. How you use it will determine whether you are using it in a positive or negative way.

That brings us to the second part, the modifier, where it says to be as gentle as the dove. That means: know when and when not to use that knowledge, and use it in peaceful ways. That is wisdom.

And oh yes, you might like to know that it was Jesus at the end of the Sermon On The Mount who, after telling his disciples that everything he did they could do also, told them to go heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils, and, in closing said,

"Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves, :
be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves."

(Matt 10:16)

DO YE LIKEWISE!
